Ever wondered if it's possible to put together a house using only Australian products and materials?

Dear enthusiast,

Globalisation's pretty much taken for granted these days. Nobody will be surprised to hear that it's often cheaper to build our houses using products and materials manufactured overseas, and that on any number of fronts, Australian businesses often can't compete in terms of price. But price isn't always the best reason to do things, especially when you're talking about something as important as your home. Your choices as far as building materials go can seriously affect the environment, local industry, the quality of our houses and a whole range of other things you mightn't otherwise consider...

If you or someone you know has built a home using Australian made products - or if you've got any thoughts on the topic - give us a shout. We'd love to hear more about how you went about it!
