Tass Construction Group shares design inspiration for an award-winning bathroom

07 May 2024

Luxury isn’t limited to a five-star hotel stay. If kitchens are considered the heart of the home, then bathrooms are a home’s haven, providing a space for rest and rejuvenation.

One of Tass Construction Group’s recent bathroom makeovers was a 2023 NSW Housing Industry Association (HIA) award winner and showcases a commitment to thoughtful design to deliver such a haven.

“One of the primary goals of this bathroom renovation was to maximise the available space and create a luxurious, inviting atmosphere. We accomplished this by carefully selecting fixtures and working alongside EB Interiors to make the most of the available space,” Tass Construction co-founder Group Ben Tass says.

Neutral tones provided by Arte Domus stone tiles help create a relaxing ambiance. Additional touches like dual mirrors, stylish lighting and high-end hardware enhance the bathroom’s overall aesthetics.

“We installed a sleek and modern Arte Domus stone benchtop vanity which offers plenty of storage space. The vanity was complemented by beautiful mirrors which add to the aesthetics of the bathroom and help make the space feel more expansive,” Ben says.

In addition to the vanity, a very spacious shower featuring elegant frameless fluted glass doors and a neutral colour scheme adds a further touch of luxe and continues the openness and relaxed feel of the bathroom.

Elegant pieces such as a freestanding marble Oman Bath surrounded by StoneArc feature tiles from Skheme were incorporated for stylish lighting and high-end hardware to elevate the overall look and feel of the bathroom.

“Without a doubt, the bathroom is one of the most essential rooms in a home. It’s where you can kickstart your day with a refreshing shower and unwind in a magnificent tub after a long day of work,” Tass Construction Group co-founder Aaron Tass says.

For a comfortable, functional and luxurious bathroom space in a home, Ben and Aaron Tass’ following design tips can glow-up any bathroom.

Make the most of the space

A luxury bathroom feels spacious. Even the smallest bathrooms feel sophisticated and modern with the right design choices. A walk-in shower with frameless glass instantly makes your space feel bigger. The type of vanity you install also makes a big difference.

Rather than a floor-mounted one, a floating vanity adds a high-end touch while also offering more floor visibility, making the bathroom appear larger to the naked eye. Further, recessed cabinetry or mirror cabinets help create the illusion of space while providing storage for bathroom essentials.

Statement pieces

Illuminated LED bathroom mirrors can be the perfect statement piece for your bathroom. Basking your space in a soft glow, they exude a sense of luxury and elegance. A truly luxe bathroom needs a freestanding bath. From rectangle to egg-shaped, a luxurious freestanding bath, one you can admire from every angle, can make your bathroom a standout space.

Let the light shine

Natural light makes your bathroom feel more spacious. Set the mirror’s wall position to reflect natural light and make the room appear bigger.  If your bathroom lacks natural light, consider installing a feature light as an artistic focal point in your bathroom that will instantly draw attention.

It’s all in the details

Impress your guests with the use of bold tapware and lavish fixtures in tones like brushed bronze or gun-metal grey. It could be as simple as switching out the showerhead to something more bespoke to elevate your bathroom to the next level. As well as tapware, consider other hardware statement pieces, Kethy doorknobs and door handles on joinery added a touch of class to this bathroom renovation.

Tiling

Feature tiles will ultimately depend on your style. But if you look at what’s trending, then deep greens and tranquil teal reign supreme to create a luxury oasis. If you’re working with a small space, larger tiles mean fewer grout lines and help provide the appearance of a larger space.
