The 2018 Adbri Masonry Great Australian Backyard Survey results were released recently, which found that more than 75% of those surveyed had confirmed plans to improve or undertake a new project in their backyard.
With so many Australians committed to investing in their backyards and the Garden Releaf program taking place this Saturday, this edition is all about our outdoor spaces.
The Garden Releaf program aims to encourage people to get out in their garden and will be taking place at independent garden centres around Australia on Saturday 14 April.

Is real always better than fake? While most people would say yes, the answer really depends on the context of the question.
For many homeowners and builders, faux products can save money over the long run because they are less vulnerable to weather conditions, easier to install and/or require less labour.
This doesn’t mean you should always choose the fake option over the real thing but we wanted to remind you that on your next build or renovation there is the option to ‘go faux’.

Firstly, the BUILD team would like to wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
The team recently attended the High Performance Homes seminar to learn about passive design so this edition is all about how you can keep your house cool this summer (and heated in winter), while also reducing energy consumption and energy bills.
Passive design takes into account the local climate and site conditions, and focuses on renewable sources of energy, such as the sun and wind, to provide heating, cooling and ventilation.

It's that time of year again when paint companies release their colours of the year to mark the start of painting season in Australia.
For most of the country, the extreme summer weather hasn't set in yet, which makes now the perfect time to apply a fresh coat of paint to interior and exterior walls before Christmas.
Remember preparation is key and for exterior painting it's still best to avoid the middle of the day when the sun is hottest.
