Hi Christina,

I've done the Ikea kitchen before. Not bad but not great. The issue I foudn is that as you added more products into your design the price became very close to what a kitchen from the likes of Freedom or a custom job would cost.

As for installation, IKEA should be able to put you in touch with someone in your area (I'm pretty sure thats what they did for me). Or you could use someone like Service Central to get quotes. There's a link on this site somewhere for that too,.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the mention of Service Central. You are spot on, we have a broad variety of tradespeople on hand around Australia ready to quote on all types of work, including installing IKEA Kitchens.

Christina, if you would like some quotes from qualified and insured tradespeople to install an IKEA Kitchen, simply fill out this form: http://www.build.com.au/get-quotes

From there we will match your job request with pre-qualified tradespeople that install IKEA kitchens throughout Sydney and have up to three of them call you to provide you with a quote.

Its that easy. Hope that we can help out.

Regards,

Danial from Service Central

Hi Danial

Many thanks for the info. At this time, I've shelved the idea of an Ikea Kitchen, however I will keep your link for quotes on file as I'm sure I will need it in the future.

Regards

Christina

I think the IKEA kitchen is pretty versatile, but you can't quite customise things the way you'd like because their items are pretty much set at a certain size. You've got a lot of storage options to play with though and I'm sure that you can find some pretty good solutions if you run through their whole range. The items are pretty easy to DIY install as well, so I don't think you'll need to worry too much about getting construction in to help much.
