7 ancient ruins around the world, reconstructed

23 March 2018

Ancient ruins give us a fascinating window into the past but no matter how many awe-inspiring archaeological sites you visit, it’s hard to get a real sense of what they would have looked like at their peak.

That's what inspired Expedia to step back in time and rebuild 7 of the world's most popular ancient ruins using digital imaging.

Check out the re-creations below.

The Parthenon

Nohoch Mul Pyramid (Coba)

Temple of Jupiter

Milecastle 39 (part of Hadrian’s Wall)

Luxor Temple

The Pyramid of the Sun – Teotihuacán

Area Sacra di Largo Argentina – Temple B
